Great food on the Mendip Hills in Somerset
Visited and hand picked by Petrolheads Welcome.
This bistro, tucked away on the Mendip Hills in Somerset, is run by a renowned chef and food writer who is also a classic, sports and supercars fan. Lots of car (and bike) clubs meet there. The breakfasts are very popular. Worth checking to see if you need to book!
Hartley’s is a little off the beaten track, but make the effort to find it and you won’t be disappointed! Expect great food and drink, and a very warm welcome from Paul and his team. An excellent place for a welcome pit-stop if you’re touring in Somerset!
Not just a Cafe, Hartley’s is a great experience. Lovely food and good wine, what more can you ask for? How about a cheery welcome and top service. Yes, I love this place.
I passed this place many times when crossing the top of the Mendips and never realised what a gem it was until a friend recommended it. Owner Paul loves food and cars. there is an extensive menu but it’s difficult to get past the all day breakfast list which covers at least one page! The carpark is shared by the other units on the site but is smooth and level with plenty of room. If you arrive in something special you will need to build in extra time as the staff will no doubt be out to admire and ask questions.
