Great place for car/bike (and aviation) enthusiasts to meet up – easily accessible from all directions with some great roads on the doorstep. Nearly always something of interest parked up.
Lots of parking immediately outside the café, which is situated in the old airfield fire station building next to the control tower.

A welcoming environment with great food and coffee.

Cars, cake and coffee – what more could you ask for! 🙂 A great place to call in, whether on a club run, or just out on your own, plus you have plenty of aircraft action to watch while you relax.

Well Deserved Reputation

Our Region of the Porsche Club use AV8 regularly. It’s centrally located for us, and it has plenty of parking, either on tarmac or grass. The food choice is varied, or you can just have a coffee. Lots of seating inside, plus outside in nicer weather. The Staff are always friendly and helpful. Be careful with the SatNav ~ Use GL7 6PL, otherwise you will end up on the wrong side of the airport !!

All new for 2019

After a disastrous flood in 2018, the restaurant has undergone a total refurbishment. Re-opening on 28 June 2019, it promises to be a great venue for classic car owners. One of the most attractive aspects of a visit to AV8 with your precious car is the extensive, spacious parking (now moved from the airfield side to the area behind the café). One can park without fear of someone opening their doors into your car and the parking availability spreads out onto the other areas of the large airfield site. Our visit in mid-June 2019 saw a brand new Porsche 911, a TR4A and a delicious 1983 Aston Martin Volante all parked for a petrolhead’s delight.,
