We at Petrolheads Welcome are looking forward to seeing this new attraction opening in May 2021.  The owners tell us:

“We feature over 100 British Classic cars, from the days of the Austin Seven up to the latest McLaren.

You’ll be guided by the latest interactive technology, with fantastic activities for children and a great café where you can relax after your remarkable tour through time.”

They also offer a chance to try out more than 30 hand picked classics by taking a drive around their private track with an instructor.  Sounds like fun!

They have asked us to point out the following for the time being:

“Initially, due to Covid guidelines, we will be operating a booking system for entry to the attraction. You will need to book a 15-minute arrival slot for admission. If you are running late or miss your slot, we won’t refuse admission but you may have to wait for the next available slot for us to let you enter the attraction.”

You can find the FBVHC’s directory of Motor Museums HERE.

Hours of interest

Agree with Craig. He pretty much said it all. Since opening a hoard of car clubs have used the location and they now have dedicated parking for such groups. As of May 22 you no longer have to pre-book and weekdays are pretty quiet for extended perusal. One word of warning for those with “interesting” handbrakes, there is quite a steep turn out of the location onto a busy road..

Well worth a visit

Lucky enough to be visiting the local area only 2 days after the museum opened. Couldn’t resist going for a look and very glad i did! The museum is really well set up, walking you through British automotive history over the past 100 years in a timeline fashion with chapters for each important era or milestone. The tablets with virtual tour and QR codes to scan each car to learn about that specific cars story and sometimes even documents gave a modern take on the classic museum formula. I’m all about the stories our cars tell so this was a really nice touch and enjoyed hearing about original owners stories, background etc. Whilst i didnt take up the opportunity on this visit, it was also a very unique touch to have the chance to drive some of the cars on display, which of course carries an additional charge. They also have a cafe and shop for refreshments and gifts. Would definately recommend this as a destination for other petrolheads to visit!
