About

Recommended by Petrolheads Welcome member, Rob P.  This is what he tells us:

“The Carpenters Arms is an absolutely ideal pub for petrolheads. It is ideally located between the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors – both great driving areas – and just a short drive from Thirsk.

The car park is large with smooth tarmac and plenty of room to turn; the spaces are large and mostly clear of trees or overhead bird perches.

The pub boasts 10 rooms, 8 of which are very high specification garden rooms, each with a lounge area, comfortable bed, plenty of wardrobe space, large bathroom with 2-person bath and walk in shower. The only drawback is that one must walk outside to get to the bar and restaurant.

The garden itself is a delight and also provides views across open countryside. The pub has a good selection of ales and serves excellent, reasonably priced meals.

A recent Aston Martin driving tour negotiated a great deal for all 10 rooms on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.”

Thanks Rob. Sounds like our kind of place!
