About

This historic manor house once the home of Lord Swansea was recommended by one of our trusted members.  Convenient for driving the scenic Elan Valley, it has hosted many car club events in the past so they are very used to looking after guests and their cherished cars.

Quirky hotel with a real old world appeal
4.0.0

I selected this hotel from this website and used it on a return from Snowdonia to the Brecon Beacons. Its a very old quirky hotel but thats its appeal. It has excellent flat parking in the courtyard right outside the hotel – ideal for my very low Lotus. Its position is stunning with the terrace at the back overlooking impressive gardens and a great place to sit with a cold beer to discuss how much better your car is than the rest of your car mates! The rooms are adequate but comfortable – the rooms have car related names (i stayed in the ‘Bentley boys’) and if being critical the bathroom needed refurbishing and the shower was puny but it was only a one night stay. The restaurant and bar, however, were excellent and despite COVID restrictions only just being lifted the staff were very pleasant. The evening meal was excellent and the Welsh breakfast very welcome. Its a bit of a walk into the town so we decided to stay put for the evening and had a very nice time mixing with some very pleasant guests, particularly the one who said my car was prettier then the others in our group! 😉
