Embark on a journey through time

Recommended by Petrolheads Welcome member, Sara B. This is what she tells us:
“A sister museum to the one at Speyer, this museum concentrates more on discovering and explaining the history of technical achievements. But this is not a dusty museum but one where exhibits are accessible and interactive. Outside among the collection of 60 diverse aircraft you can walk aboard Concorde and then compare and contrast it with a “Concordeski” Tupolev TU-144. In the main halls are the huge display of hundreds of cars from vintage to F1, sportscars to the land speed record Blue Flame. More planes “fly” from the ceiling and steam locos overwhelm. An Imax cinema takes you where you haven’t been before. A vast car park is safe for all and the complex has several very good eateries.
English as ever spoken throughout.”
Thanks Sara!
We spent all day here as there is so much to see. Loads of cars obviously, including Hitler’s personal Merc, but so much other technical stuff as well, from huge marine engines to little sewing machines. It’s also nice that you can get very close to many of the cars and see the interiors. The photo is a 1927 Bugatti Type 37 – beautiful !!
